Chepstow Plant Make Transatlantic Sale

Chepstow Plant International has kicked off 2018 with a positive start with the sale of the Caterpillar 657G – the biggest Motor Scraper model in the world. The machine weighs a massive 70 tonnes when empty and can carry up to 50 tonnes per load.

Chepstow Plant has sold the machine to one of Canada’s largest earthmoving companies, who are due to convert the machine back to a standard earthmoving spec, from its original coal-based spec and are based in Alberta. The sale of the Caterpillar 657G marks the first international sale of the year and the first to Canada in over a decade.

Ross Hayward, Asset Manager for Chepstow Plant International, said: “We are thrilled to have started 2018 so positively with the sale of the 657G, particularly to a substantial earthmoving contractor in Alberta, Canada. The Caterpillar 657G has been a great piece of equipment for us, since purchased new back in 2011 and provides the perfect springboard to more global sales for Chepstow Plant International in 2018.”
